To fast-track plans for a long-awaited new K-8 school, AMS worked closely with TETER Architects and Stockton USD to mix modular and conventional construction on a 3-acre custom campus—an innovative solution that saved almost $10 million in design and construction costs plus a year of build time. Named for a local education pioneer, the AMS EVOLVE project features a two-story modular classroom building, one-story kindergarten wing and admin building connecting to outdoor learning space. The 21st century design is high performance, with ample daylighting, high-efficiency systems, flexible classrooms and STEM lab. Stucco and lap siding highlight many custom details adding character to the low-maintenance façade.
